Hach announced in April a sales partnership for LuminUltra’s microbiological monitoring solutions.
In May, ASD named United Spectrometer Technologies a primary mining reseller in Southern Africa for its TerraSpec system.
Korean firm Mecasys opened its first US office in Seattle, Washington, in May.
In June, Analyze IQ announced a partnership under which Shimadzu Scientific Instruments will sell its software suite to customers in North America.
Product Introductions
Delta Nu introduced an updated line of Inspector Raman handheld analyzers for security applications, featuring a new touchscreen. A 1030 nm laser system is priced at $40,000, while a 785 nm laser version is priced at $24,000.
Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced in April the Thermo Scientific TruDefender FTX handheld analyzer for FT-IR chemical and explosives identification, featuring a self-contained anvil sampling head.
Thermo Fisher Scientific launched in May the Thermo Scientific Orion AquaMate Series spectrophotometers for water analysis applications. The AquaMate 7000 is for measurements in the VIS range, and the 8000 is for measurements across the entire spectrum from UV to NIR. Both include more than 260 preprogrammed measurement methods for many manufacturers’ reagent chemistries.
In April, X-Rite and its Pantone subsidiary released the Ci4200 compact 31-point spectrophotometer for affordable color measurements of coatings, textiles and plastics.
Ocean Optics launched in May the IDRaman mini handheld Raman spectrometer for sample authentication and counterfeit detection, identification and verification. Palm sized, it weighs 11 oz. and runs on AA batteries.
Ocean Optics released in May OceanView spectroscopy software, with data processing capabilities and a graphic user interface, for use with its miniature spectrometers.
In May, HORIBA Scientific introduced a ParticleFinder module for its LabSpec 6 Spectroscopy Suite for use with its Raman microscopes.
Agilent launched in May an atomic force microscope (AFM)/Raman system, which integrates the Agilent 6000ILM AFM and HORIBA XplorRA INV inverted Raman microscope, for nanoscale materials identification.
In June, Agilent introduced the Cary 7000 Universal Measurement Spectrophotometer, a UV-Vis-NIR system. It provides measurements of transmission, absolute reflection and scattering without moving the sample and features 10 Absorbance unit capabilities.
