Company Announcements

Sage Analytics announced in July the appointment of Herzog Scientific as its US West Coast sales representative.

In September, Princeton Instruments named Delta Optics, part of Irida Iberica, as its new sales representative for Spain.

Agilent Technologies named DKSH as a spectroscopy solutions distributor for Vietnam, covering marketing, sales and after-sales services.

Product Introductions

In July, Anasys Instruments introduced the nanoIR2-s nanoscale spectroscopy and imaging platform, which combines AFM-IR and scattering scanning near field optical microscopy (s-SNOM). S-SNOM enables sub–20 nm optical imaging.

In August, TechnoSpex introduced the uSight microspectroscopy systems for UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopy: the uSight-2000 microspectrophotometer for an upright microscope and the uSight-X, the renamed uRaman-X system, which can be connected to a spectrometer.

Oxford Instruments and Green Imaging Technologies launched the GeoSpec+ NMR core analyzer, featuring a new compact electronics console, and a new suite of monitoring and diagnostics software.

Shimadzu introduced the CGT-7100 Portable Infrared Gas Analyzers for real-time monitoring of concentrations of gases such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and methane.

Avantes released the AvaSpec-ULS2048L-EVO, the first instrument in its new EVO Series. It offers USB 3.0 communications and a second communication port.

In September, ASD, a PANalytical company, launched the FieldSpec 4 Hi-Res NG, a next generation spectroradiometer system featuring enhanced spectral resolution.

Spectro Scientific introduced the CoolCheck 2 Coolant Analyzer for analysis of nine fluid parameters. New features include cooling fans and changeable air filters.

Paraytec released the ActiPix D200 UV/Vis Imaging Platform, featuring higher data rates, higher resolution and improved signal-to-noise ratio than previous models.

HORIBA Scientific introduced the ProtectionPlus module for its LabSpec 6 Spectroscopy Suite, which adds a layer of security and data integrity controls for regulated lab environments.

Sales/Orders of Note

In September, Bruker announced that Brazil’s Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and the École Polytechnique Féderale de Lausanne in Switzerland each ordered a 900 MHz NMR spectrometer. The University of Leeds in the UK ordered a 950 MHz NMR spectrometer. The backlog for GHz-class NMR systems for Europe and Canada is now nine systems.
