Bruker announced that Eurofins Scientific and the Bruker-led Honey Consortium will harmonize their honey profiling models and released an updated Honey Profiling module for Bruker’s NMR FoodScreener.

In April, INFORS HT became the sole distributor of aquila biolabs’ Cell Growth Quantifier for noninvasive online monitoring of biomass in shake flasks.

ASD launched an Australian service center in April.

MyDx named Nanolux Technology as a distributor, with exclusive rights for the US retail hydroponic market.

TeraView named Sanyo Trading as a Japanese distributor.

Product Introductions

HORIBA Scientific introduced the compact MacroRam Raman spectrometer with a spectral range of 100–3400 cm-1.

WITec launched in March the alpha 300 access Raman microscope for microRaman imaging. It is priced at $77,000 and is upgradeable.

Renishaw released the Qontor unit for its InVia confocal Raman microscope. It enables LiveTrack, a mode that provides for automatic focusing in the z direction.

In March, DeNovix launched the dsDNA fluorescence kit for sub-picogram concentration fluorescence quantification, allowing for detection of 0.5–300 pg/µL.

Metrohm USA released the Vision Air spectroscopy software for networking Vis-NIR instruments.

In April, Datacolor introduced the Datacolor 200 spectrophotometer, designed for paint retailers and hardware stores. The need for calibration is reduced from every eight hours to every two weeks.

Bruker released the single-story Aeon 950 MHz NMR magnet for high-resolution protein NMR. The previous version required two-story labs.

Bruker announced that the 15N optimized CryoProbes with cold 15N preamplifiers are now offered up to 1 GHz.

In May, Unity Scientific launched the SpectraStar XT NIR spectrometers, with a scanning range up to 2600 nm.

Thermo Fisher Scientific expanded the capabilities of its TruScan RM Raman instrument, enabling users to build customized models for qualitative and quantitative sample predictions.

Bruker announced in April the first installation of a 1 GHz system equipped with an actively shielded Aeon 1 GHz magnet at the University of Bayreuth in Germany.

In April, Bruker announced that Israel’s Weizmann Institute of Science purchased an Aeon 1 GHz NMR system, an Aeon 600 MHz NMR system, a 263 GHz DNP-NMR system and a Biospec 15 Tesla system.
