Polychromix selected Anaytik as its exclusive distributor for the UK and Ireland.
Datacolor AG’s revenues for the year ended September 30, 2009 declined 29.2% to CHF 51.2 million ($46.0 million). Operating loss was CHF 2.5 million ($1.8 million), compared to a profit of CHF 2.7 million ($2.5 million) a year ago (see IBO 12/15/09). Industrial sales declined 31.7% to make up to 77% of revenues. Consumer sales fell 18.8%.
Picarro named Thomas Fallon, president and CEO of Infinera, to its Board in November 2009.

ANDalyze introduced the handheld AND1000 Fluorimeter, a catalytic DNA biosensor for the detection of heavy metals and chemicals in water.
Bibby Scientific released the Jenway 67 series spectrophotometers, featuring split-beam optics. The 6705 and 6715 systems cover the wavelength range of 190–1100 nm, and the 6715 system provides a ultra-narrow bandwidth of 1.5 nm.
Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced the compact, affordable GENESYS 10S Vis and GENESYS 10S UV-Vis spectrophotometers, featuring an increased scanning performance for speeds up to 4,200 nm per minute. Thermo also released the BioMate 3S spectrophotometer, featuring built-in biological test methods and 1.8 nm resolution.
TeraView launched the affordable CW Spectra 400 pulsed terahertz system with fiber fed external devices.
Picarro introduced the Picarro Combustion Module-Cavity Ring-Down Spectrometer, a portable system for bulk 13C analysis that features an autosampler and the Liasion Universal interface.
Picarro released: the G5101-i Isotope N2O Analyzer for concentration and isotope measurements; the G1301-f for CO2, CH4 and H2O measurements, which combines high speed and long-term stability; and the A010 Liquid Standards Delivery Module for water vapor measurements.
Varian launched FT-IR solutions for polymer and materials applications, featuring its 600-IR Series spectrometers and microscopes.
Konica Minolta Sensing Americas introduced the stand-alone CM-5 top-port benchtop spectrophotometer for color measurement. It replaces the CT-300 Series.
In January, A2 Technologies launched the Flexscan portable FT-IR system for dedicated field applications.

The US Transportation Security Administration placed a $21.9 million delivery order for portable liquid detection scanners based on Smiths Detection’s RespondeR RCI (Raman chemical identifier).
