Polychromix signed a strategic investment and technology advancement agreement with In-Q-Tel.

Scinco named Cosa Instruments the exclusive US distributor of its PDA UV/Vis spectrophotometers.

Ocean Optics, a Halma company, promoted Rob Randelman, PhD, vice president of Sales and Marketing, to president in October. Former President and founder Mike Morris was named vice chairman.

Ocean Optics appointed SpectrEcology a distributor of its miniature spectrometers, fiber optics, chemical sensors and laser induced breakdown spectroscopy systems. SpectrEcology was formed by Mike Morris, founder of Ocean Optics.

In November, Ocean Optics opened a regional center in Ostfildern, Germany, to support customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

ChemImage named John Belechak, formerly director of Operations and controller, COO in November. Bob Kibler was appointed vice president of Sales and Marketing.

DataColor, an Eichholf Group AG company, reported fiscal 2007 sales rose 3.2% to CHF 89.0 million ($71.7 million) (see IBO 12/15/07). Sales of Datacolor Spyder products grew 22% to represent 19% of sales. Europe, America and Asia accounted for 40%, 30% and 30% of sales, respectively. The company began building an 8,000 square meter production facility and office in Suzhou, China.
