In November, Microsaic Systems entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with Spark Holland/ iChrom Solutions to distribute the Microsaic-branded 4500 MiD MS detector in the US and Canada.

Microsaic Systems announced in December that a partner, a major scientific instrument company, has decided not to continue their bioprocess MS collaboration. The decision is not expected to have a financial impact on Microsaic Systems. Microsaic Systems has initiated conversations with bioprocess suppliers regarding the technology.

Product Introductions

In November, molecular testing company Agena Bioscience launched the SNP-based Chimeric ID Panel designed to reduce the time and cost of performing chimerism analysis for bone marrow engraftment monitoring studies. The panel is designed for research use with the MassARRAY system.

Bioinformatics Solutions released in November the vendor-neutral PEAKS X software within its PEAKS Studio platform for data-dependent acquisition and data-independent acquisition for discovery proteomics.

In November, Thermo Fisher Scientific, in collaboration with HighChem, introduced Thermo Scientific Mass Frontier 8.0 software for use with the Thermo Scientific Orbitrap ID-X Tribrid MS system. It is designed to rapidly deconvolute and search information-rich, MSⁿ data produced during the identification and structural characterization of small molecule unknown compounds and their fragments.

In November, PerkinElmer debuted the dual-source QSight 400 Series Triple Quadrupole MS System designed for rapid identification and quantitation of pesticides, mycotoxins and emerging contaminants in complex food, cannabis and environmental testing applications. PerkinElmer has developed a single LC/MS/MS method that meets pesticide and mycotoxin regulatory requirement at levels below state action limits.

In November, Protein Metrics, a provider of MS software for protein characterization, received an FDA Request for Quotation to use its Byos platform for LC/MS multiattribute method analysis of protein therapeutics.
