Shimadzu partnered in April with Sugiyama Laboratory, part of RIKEN Research Center’s RIKEN Innovation Center, to research LC/MS/MS quantitative analysis methods to support drug discovery using microdosing.
Bruker signed in June an exclusive framework agreement with Turkish diagnostic lab firm Duzen for molecular microbial identification based on MALDI-TOF MS.
In June, Bruker entered into collaboration with JMI Laboratories in the field of fungal identification by proteomics fingerprinting using its MALDI Biotyper. Goals include the validation and expansion of the system’s database fingerprint profiles.

In June, Bioformatics Solutions released the PEAKS 6 MS software, which integrates separate algorithms for de novo sequencing, database search, post-translational modification and mutations.
Hiden Analytical introduced in June the HPR-20 QIC TMS gas analyzer for the analysis of fast transient pulses and rapid compositional changes in gaseous processes.
In July, FLIR introduced the Griffin 824 ion trap MS for explosives and narcotics trace detection, featuring an analysis time of 10 seconds. No cleaners are required.
