Neogen Buys Indian Firm

Neogen stated that Sterling provides testing services for hotels and restaurants, nutraceuticals and food ex-ports. Neogen’s Food Safety annual revenue totaled $125.8 million as of February. The firm’s international sales grew 15.5% in fiscal 2014 to $96.1 million.

Lansing, MI 6/1/15—Neogen has announced the acquisition of the assets of Sterling Test House, a food testing lab based in southwest India with 40 employees. Financial details were not disclosed. “Much as we did in China, this acquisition is intended to bolster our long-term strategy of accelerating our revenue growth in critical global food safety markets,” stated Dr. Jason Lilly, vice president of Corporate Development for Neogen. Sterling will be the base of Neogen’s operations in India.
