Nepal’s Department of Drug Administration (DDA) has requested that all Nepalese drug firms implement GMP standards issued by the World Health Organization by midmonth. Currently, 60% of Nepal’s 40 drug firms adhere to GMP regulations. Ensuring that all firms are compliant will allow Nepal to participate in the industry on a global scale, according to the DDA. The DDA plans to monitor compliance by adding new regulations in 18 categories, such as general provisions, GMP for drug products, sanitation and hygiene, qualification and validation, and product recalls.
