NEXUS Biosystems Acquires Microplate Company
Aurora Biotechnologies provides cyclo-olefin polymer microplates, including 3,456-well plates. Both companies have received funding from Telegraph Hill Partners, which is now a majority owner of NEXUS (see IBO 7/15/09). The San Diego Business Journal reports that Aurora’s six employees will all join NEXUS.
Poway, CA 12/7/09—NEXUS Biosystems, a provider of automated sample management systems, has acquired Aurora Biotechnologies, a developer of high-performance microplates for sample storage, high-throughput screening and cellular imaging. Financial details were unavailable. “As we head into 2010 with the Aurora technologies, we are very excited about the opportunity to expand our product reach beyond automated sample management into high-throughput biochemical, cell-based and genomic screening applications,” commented John Lillig, president and CEO of Nexus Biosystems.
