Company Announcements

In September, Agilent and the Agilent Technologies Foundation gave Professor Gerhard Wanger at Harvard Medical School an Agilent Thought Leader Award totaling $373,000 over three years in support of his work using high-magnetic field NMR to analyze large proteins. The award will help him develop fast and efficient assignment methods for large proteins by NMR.

In October, Agilent and the Australia’s University of Technology, Sydney, established a joint NMR research facility, which is part of an ongoing research and technology collaboration between the University and Agilent.

Product Introductions

In September, Bruker released the CMC-assist software tool for routine NMR users. It assigns the NMR signals to structural characteristics, conducts a structural consistency assessment and provides the spectral analysis.

Sales/Orders of Note

Bruker announced in May that it received a $3 million order for electron paramagnetic resonance instrumentation from the UK’s University of Manchester.

Bruker announced in May the sale of 35 minispec mq-one XL time-domain 7.5 MHz NMR seed analyzers to Trakya Birlik, a Turkish agricultural cooperative, for oilseed quality control.

Agilent announced in June the $6 million sale of several NMR spectrometers at 400 MHz, 600 MHz and 800 MHz and a 9.4 Tesla MRI system to Poland’s Adam Mickiewicz University.

In July, the National University of Singapore selected Agilent’s 600 MHz NMR spectrometer and 7 T MRI system to support environmental research at its Environmental Research Institute.
