Company Announcements

Oxford Instruments Magnetic Resonance named Folio Instruments a Canadian distributor of its MQC benchtop NMR analyzer.

Oxford Instruments Magnetic Resonance announced in April a strategic partnership with Green Imaging Technologies (GIT) to develop NMR solutions for core analysis. GIT’s LithoMetrix and GIT Systems software will be available exclusively on Oxford’s GeoSpec2 systems. The companies have been collaborating for more than three years.

In March, New Zealand–based engineering firm Scott Technology acquired a 51% shareholding in HTS-110, a designer and manufacturer of electromagnets and other associated technology that utilizes high-temperature superconductors, for NZD 4.4 million ($3.3 million).

Agilent announced it is developing a series of NMR spectrometers at 850 MHz and 1 GHz. The company also formed a comarketing partnership with Bridge12 Technologies that will enable the commercialization of dynamic nuclear polarization NMR systems, including Bridge12’s terahertz gyrotron and transmission line system.

Product Introductions

Bruker released the CMC-se software package, which is designed to simplify molecular structure elucidation by NMR in drug discovery and natural products research.

Bruker introduced Assure-RMS software, a quantitative NMR solution for raw material screening.

Bruker launched the 16-sample SampleXpress Lite autosampler for its 300 MHz FT-NMR spectrometer.

In April, Bruker expanded the Ascend series of compact NMR magnets, adding 400 MHz and 600 MHz magnets.

Bruker introduced the CryoProbe Prodigy for the Avance III NMR system. Available at 400 MHz and 500 MHz, it provides a performance boost with minimum operating and maintenance costs and long service intervals of more than 20,000 hours.

In May, Bruker launched the BioSpec 150/11 system MRI scanner for preclinical research based on the Bruker 15.0 T USR magnet and MIR CryoProbe. Vanderbilt University placed the first order for the system and will work with Bruker to develop applications.

Agilent introduced the DirectDrive 2 NMR/MRI console with new features. The company also introduced OneNMR probes at 500 MHz and 600 MHz and the narrow-bore HFXY solid-state NMR probe.

Oxford Instruments Magnetic Resonance launched the new GeoSpec2 modular core-analysis instrument, featuring Q-Sense, which doubles signal-to-noise ratios. The product was developed with GIT.

In May, Mestrelab Research released Mnova 7.0 NMR software, featuring the Mnova DB plug-in for the storage, indexing, management and searching of NMR, LC, GC and MS data.
