Swift Biosciences announced in October 2013 the completion of a $7 million Series B financing.

In November 2013, RainDance Technologies named BIOKÉ a distributor for its RainDrop Digital PCR Systems in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany.

BioMérieux selected Life Technologies’ 7500 instrument range as the preferred thermocyclers for its new molecular biological workflow solution for reference labs.

In December 2013, Biogazelle named Core Life Sciences a distributor for California.

Rubicon Genomics appointed new distributors: Amplitech for France, HPST for the Czech Republic, LuBio Science for Switzerland, Recenttec for Japan, Prisma Biotech for Taiwan, S.M. Chemical for Thailand, and Custom Science for Australia and New Zealand.

BIOTECON Diagnostics ended its distribution agreement with Merck Millipore on December 31, 2013.

In January, IT-IS International announced that it filed suit in Germany against Roche for intellectual property infringement and breach of a confidentiality disclosure agreement, alleging that Roche launched a product in 2012 based on technology that it shared with Roche as part of a tender process and project, which was later cancelled. IT-IS is an OEM manufacturer of Roche PCR instruments.

Bioline, a Meridian Bioscience company, opened an office in Singapore in January.

Peqlab Biotechnology launched in October 2013 the 96Q real-time PCR system with up to eight detection channels.

Sigma Life Science introduced in November 2013 the ONYX QUENCHER for qPCR for research, molecular diagnostics and lab developed tests.

RainDance Technologies introduced a High-Precision Chromosomal Copy Number Variation Measurement application for its RainDrop Digital PCR System.

Bioline released the MyTaq Blood-PCR Kit for highly specific PCR direct from whole blood samples.

In December 2013, Bio-Rad Laboratories released an additional 46 mutation detection assays and 323 copy number assays, extending its PrimePCR assays for its Droplet Digital PCR systems.

Bio-Rad Laboratories launched more than 700 new PrimePCR human and mouse disease panels and 71 new pathway panels for qPCR.

Linkage Biosciences introduced its first real-time PCR KIR (killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptors) genotyping test.
