PerkinElmer Acquires Labtronics
PerkinElmer adds to its ELN offerings, which include CambridgeSoft’s products (see IBO 3/31/11) and its LIMS offerings (see IBO 3/15/01) with this purchase. Labtronics’ products also include LimsLink for the integration of lab instruments and software platforms. A series of acquisitions this year has given PerkinElmer a solid position in the lab informatics market.
Waltham, MA 5/16/11—PerkinElmer has acquired Labtronics, a provider of procedures-based electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) solutions for labs performing routine analysis. Financial details were not disclosed. “This acquisition successfully positions PerkinElmer as the only technology provider able to deploy an optimized ELN solution across a global customer’s entire value chain, from research to manufacturing,” said Dusty Tenney, president, Analytical Sciences and Laboratory Services at PerkinElmer. Labtronics’ products include the Nexxis ELN for quality control and R&D and the Nexxis iLAB lab automation platform.
