Waltham, MA 10/29/14—PerkinElmer has acquired Ceiba Solutions, a company that provides science- and lab-IT software and services and offers IT services and emerging software platforms. Financial details were not disclosed. PerkinElmer will integrate Ceiba’s capabilities into its OneSource services, which include Lab IT. “As customers seek solutions and business models to help drive more productive science for their global enterprises, our ability to expand our offering in domain-specific and lab-IT capabilities through this acquisition enables us to provide an integrated offering that helps accelerate their science,” stated Jon DiVincenzo, president, Environmental Health, at PerkinElmer. “Ceiba’s solutions including its managed services certification and informatics technologies enhance our OneSource offering with advanced tools and expertise to contribute to accelerating scientific breakthroughs.” OneSource customers will now have access to lab-computing managed services, which consist of metrics-driven IT-support services for lab-specific IT workflows; training and certification; and information, including a data-utilization, -exploration and -analysis solution for life-science researchers.
