PerkinElmer Settles with Enzo

PerkinElmer was one of eight defendants in a 2002 lawsuit brought by Enzo, alleging breach of contract, patent infringement, fraudulent inducement and tortious inference with business relations (see IBO 10/31/02). A summary judgment last year dismissed the claims of fraudulent inducement and tortious interference. A trial to decide the remaining issues was scheduled to begin this month.

New York, NY 6/23/14—Enzo Biochem’s Enzo Life Sciences subsidiary has entered into a settlement agreement with PerkinElmer Health Sciences in a case before the US District Court, Southern District of New York. Under the agreement, PerkinElmer agreed to pay Enzo $7 million in escrow.
