Hamilton Sundstrand Applied Instrument Technologies established a sales and marketing office in Moscow, Russia, in November 2008.
Emerson Process Management opened a 12,500-square-meter Asia Flow Technology Center in Nanjing, China, in November 2008 for flow metering and measurement.
Yokogawa opened a sales and service office in Dublin, Ireland, in December 2008. Process control instrumentation sales will continue through local distributor Irish Power & Process.
In January, SICK AG acquired AMKO Systems. Based in Toronto, Canada, AMKO is a supplier of process automation technology with short-term annual sales of CAD 5 million ($4 million).

Ocean Optics released Admesy’s Brontes Colorimeter for color measurement in online applications.
PAC introduced MicroDist for online distillation testing for process optimization, product certification and control of blending processes for motor gasoline, fuel oil naphtha and diesel.
Emerson Process Management released the modular Rosemount Analytical Model 1057 three-input intelligent analyzer for pH, ORP, and contacting conductivity or resistivity.
FOSS A/S introduced the NIR-based XDS Direct Light system as a fat monitoring solution for meat producers. It is well suited for small to midsized producers.
FOSS A/S introduced XDS Process Analytics for analytical and process control applications in dairy.
AMETEK Process Instruments launched the LinkBus Remote Instrument Monitoring System, which provides 24/7 access via a PC web browser or Fieldbus, ModBus protocol-based distributed control system.
Applied Analytics introduced ECLIPSE Process 10 online analyzer software, which is part of the company’s diode array analyzers, that allows for the configuration of simultaneous analysis and calibration methods.
Umetris released the SIMCA-Q 12 real-time multivariate calculation engine for continuous and batch processes.
Mettler-Toledo launched digital sensors featuring Intelligent Sensor Management technology. All relevant sensor parameters and algorithms for enhanced sensor diagnostics are stored in an integrated chip in the sensor head.
Rockwell Automation released the FactoryTalk Pharma Series based on its FactoryTalk Integrated Products and Performance Suite. It covers processes in R&D, clinical manufacturing and commercial manufacturing.
