Company Announcements
Hamilton acquired Inline Messtechnik, its former German distributor for process products, in December 2010.
In February, Modern Water acquired Cogent Environmental, a provider of portable and on-line water-monitoring products, from Sultan Scientific. Modern Water also established a new division, MW Monitoring.
Environics Oy and IUT Institut fuer Umwelttechnologien formed Environics-IUT GmbH, a joint venture that includes IUT’s detector business. The venture provides mobile and stationary gas analyzers.
In March, COSA Xentaur and Process NMR Associates announced an application-development agreement for spectroscopy-based product lines.
ATMI announced in March a distribution agreement with Finesse Solutions, allowing it to sell Finesse’s T700 control systems with its Integrity PadReactor system.
In May, ASD announced its acceptance into the Rockwell Automation Partner Network program as an Encompass Product Partner, representing the QualitySpec 7000.
In May, Harvard Bioscience announced it will sell Polestar Technologies’ sensor systems as stand-alone products or integrated with Harvard Apparatus’s physiology research system and regenerative medicine bioreactors. The companies will also codevelop products.
Product Introductions
California Analytical Instruments introduced the 600/6000 Series FT-IR system for gas analysis. It does not require liquid nitrogen.
Extrel CMS released the VeraSpec Trace system, a trace gas analyzer with a mass range of 1-4000 amu, which can be configured for both electron-impact ionization and atmospheric-pressure ionization.
Thermo Fisher Scientific launched the Thermo Scientific C2V-200 micro GC gas analyzer, which is designed for analysis of nature gas composition in a lab or on-line.
In March, Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced the portable Thermo Scientific TruProcess analyzer NIR spectrometer for pharmaceutical-processing applications.
ABB released the Horizon MB Software Suite for FT-IR for streamlined quality control applications. It includes Horizon MB FTIR version 3.1 and Horizon AB QA.
Finesse Solutions introduced the T700 upstream processing platform for single-use bioreactors that are 23–2000 L in size. The turnkey system consists of TruViu G3 hardware, TruBio software and TruFluor/TruTorr single-use sensors. TruBio 4.0 software includes the Virtual Transmitter core module for integration of single-use sensors.
Axiom Analytical released the FMX-200U Series fiber-optic multiplexers, which extend the Series’ capabilities into the UV region.
ASD launched the noncontact QualitySpec 7000 NIR analyzer for the continuous measurement of solids and blended materials on a conveyor belt.
