Company Announcements

Tiger Optics announced in October 2010 the addition of eight European and US distributors.

In November 2010, gas analysis company Servomex, part of Spectris, announced the acquisition of Delta F for $25 million. Delta F manufactures premium, trace and ultratrace oxygen and moisture analyzer technologies.

H2scan announced that its core sensor technology will be combined with UOP’s process-system knowledge to jointly market advanced analyzers for applications within refineries and petrochemical plants.

In December 2010, Kittiwake Developments acquired Procal, a manufacturer of in situ, multicomponent continuous emissions monitoring systems.

In January, Yokogawa named Chet Mroz president and COO of its North American operations. He has been an advisor to Yokogawa.

Product Introductions

Extrel CMS introduced the MS-based VersaSpec Trace trace gas analyzer for pure gas and general gas analysis.

WTW GmbH, an ITT Analytics business, introduced the FDO 701 IQ online dissolved oxygen (DO) probe for water and wastewater.

Global Water Instruments, an ITT Analytics brand, released the WQ-FDO optical DO sensor and the WQ-Cond Conductivity Sensor.

FOSS NIRSystems launched the 12 mm BioProcess Probe optimized for real-time in situ monitoring of mammalian cell culture growth in bioreactors. The novel design is autoclavable or sterilizable in place.

Eyasco introduced the Water Quality QuB monitoring system, featuring built-in sensors for turbidity, pH, conductivity and temperatures.

Axiom Analytical released the fiber-optic coupled FDA-1835 diffuse reflectance probe, designed for large-scale biomass analysis by NIR in the field.

OPTEX entered the water quality–testing market in November 2010 when it began selling the TSC-10 turbidity meter that uses the 90 degrees scattered light method.

MKS Instruments launched the FTIR-based AIRGARD ambient air analyzer. It can simultaneously detect over 50 toxic chemical warfare agents and industrial chemicals.

AMETEK Process Instruments introduced the Model IPS-4 full spectrum analyzer, which is able to measure up to eight components. It combines an NDIR platform and integrated sampling system with a UV-Vis platform.

Emerson Process Measurement released the Rosemount Analytical Model 3900 general purpose pH/oxidation reduction potential sensor, which can provide accurate measurements in applications from -10° C to 100° C.

California Analytical Instruments introduced the 600/6000 Series FTIR for continuous and stable analysis of virtually any gas. It does not require liquid nitrogen.
