Endress+Hauser opened a new production site in Suzhou, China to manufacture level, pressure, temperature and analytical measuring devices. Three production centers will move to the 7,850 sq. meter building.

Diploma acquired CBISS, a UK-based supplier of equipment and services for environmental monitoring and control, including continuous emission monitoring systems, gas leak detectors and toxic gas monitors, for £5.25 million ($9.4 million) in cash. CBISS had fiscal 2006 sales of £6.2 million ($11.1 million).

Emerson Process Management appointed Peter Zornio to the new position of chief strategic officer. He was most recently director of product marketing for Honeywell.

Mettler-Toledo Ingold released the InPro8600 Series for the measurement of turbidity in hygienic applications.

RheoSense introduced the Viscometers-on-a-Chip for the characterization of various liquids.

AMETEK Process Instruments launched the Model 5100-NCM Analyzer, a tunable laser diode system that directly measures water-vapor concentration in natural gas.

Emerson Process Management introduced the easy-to-use Rosemount Analytical Model 1056 Single/Dual Input Analyzer for liquid analysis, which allows the choice of any combination of measurements of pH/ORP/ISE, resistivity/conductivity, percent concentration, chlorine, oxygen, ozone and temperature.
