Picarro named Iain Green director of Marketing in June. He was previously senior marketing manager of NMR products for Varian. Picarro also appointed Mark Davis as vice president of Sales. He was previously director of US Sales for Hach.

Picarro named new two distributors: Sanyo Trading for Japan and KNJ Engineering for South Korea.

Applikon Biotechnology BV and Aber Instruments partnered to create an integrated bioreactor controller and sensor for viable cells.

InProcess Instruments appointed SibAnalytService as a Russian distributor.

Tiger Optics named three new distributors: APP Systems for Singapore, Atlas Technology for Taiwan and Horton Instrument for the US.

Emerson promoted Steve A. Sonnenberg, president of Emerson Rosemount, to executive vice president and business leader of Emerson Process Management, effective October 1. He replaced John M. Berra, who became chairman of Emerson Process Management. Michael H. Train, president of Emerson Process Management Asia Pacific, was named president of Rosemount.

Emerson promoted Larry W. Flatt, president of Emerson Process Management Regulators, to group vice president for Emerson Process Management Flow Group in October. He replaces Gene Shanahan, who retired.

Finesse Solutions introduced the TruViu PLSS, a vessel utility tower system for pilot and small-scale production applications.

SAP AG introduced the “Perfect Plant” center of excellence for the life sciences industry, a collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services and Werum, which provides a virtual view of the life sciences plant floor environment.

GOW-MAC Instrument introduced the Series 100TCD Gas Analyzer, optimized for noncorrosive and corrosive gas analysis.

Hach introduced the SOLITAX sc sensor based on dual-bream infrared/scattered light photometric detection technology for on-line particulate and solids measurement in drinking water, wastewater and industrial applications.

AppliTek launched the on-line Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen Analyzer in June.

Tiger Optics introduced the Tiger-i for cleanroom applications.

Senscient released the SenseLine ELSD (enhanced laser diode spectroscopy) Series of Open Path Gas Detectors.

ABB Instrumentation introduced the Navigator 600 Phosphate Analyzer for the power-generation industry and other large-scale steam-raising industrial applications.

Picarro launched the L1102-i water isotope analyzer.
