Endress+Hauser acquired a majority share in its Romanian distributor Romconseng.
Endress+Hauser’s Conductam industrial liquid analysis business named Dr. Manfred Jagiella, previously head of Sensors for Balluff, managing director.
Endress+Hauser’s 2006 sales increased 11.3% to €985.2 million ($1.2 billion) (see IBO 7/15/07). Asian Pacific sales rose 20%, European sales grew 10.4%, North and South American sales rose 6.2%, and African sales grew 5.7%.
Endress+Hauser opened a sales center in Istanbul, Turkey, with 20 employees.
Rockwell Automation acquired Irish company ProsCon, an engineering firm offering design solutions for the biotech and pharmaceutical industry.
SICK AG acquired Australia’s Gas Analysis Systems, which specializes in gas analyzers for mining.
SICK AG’s 2006 sales grew 8.8% to €646 million ($807.5 million). Process Automation sales increased 11.3% to €99 million ($123.8 million), driven by Asia.
Under an OEM agreement, Thermo Fisher Scientific will provide its GRAMS spectroscopy software to Aspectrics for its Encoded Photometric NIR process analyzer.
Environnement SA’s 2006 revenues rose 5.2% to €44.4 million ($52.8 million) (see IBO 7/15/07) with exports representing 58% of revenues and service representing 23%.
Yokogawa Electric established a services business in Saudi Arabia in April, joining its Yokogawa Saudi Arabia operations, which began operations in December 2006.
Tiger Optics named new distributors: cmc Instruments GmbH for Germany, Process Analyser Systems for the UK and Ireland, and Online Analytics for South Africa.
Chuck Cartmill, founder of C-Vision, acquired the assets of Mathis Instruments in June and formed C-Therm Technologies to relaunch the core product lines.
