In May, MKS Instruments appointed Elizabeth A. Mora, CFO of the Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, to its Board.
In May, Environnement SA agreed to acquire OTI Industrie’s industrial instrumentation business, which consists of measurement and control systems for boilers. The business had 2011 sales of €3 million ($4 million), with over 10% growth.
Product Introductions
Justice Laboratory Software and Falcon Analytical introduced Chrom Perfect Process Control software for Falcon’s CALIDUS micro GCs. The software simplifies control and monitoring of the process analyzer system functions and allows the use of the same control and data systems in lab, field or process applications.
In March, JUMO released the AQUIS touch S multichannel instrument for liquid analysis, which provides a central platform for displaying and further processing of up to four parameters directly and 10 simultaneously.
Palintest released in May the Compact Turbimeter for portable testing in a wide range of applications.
Hamilton launched in April the EasyFerm Plus ORP (oxidation reduction potential) Arc Sensor, which features a pressurized internal reference electrolyte that keeps the liquid junction free of particulates.
Hamilton released in May the Polylite Plus ORP sensor, featuring the Polisolve electrolyte, which is stable to most organic solvents, even in harsh environments.
MKS Instruments introduced the high-pressure, compact HPQ3 and HPQ3S quadrupole residual gas analyzers, which do not require differential pumping.
In May, Xylem launched the P 7100 IQ analyzer, which uses the vanadate/molybdate measuring principle to rapidly measure orthophosphate in wastewater.
Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced the Thermo Scientific Arke SO3 System for continuous monitoring of sulfur trioxide in industrial-plant process environments using an advanced Quantum Cascade laser platform.
Pfeiffer Vacuum introduced in May the portable MiniTest 300, in which helium is detected with a quartz window sensor. It operates at a working pressure up to 200 mbar and has a detection limit of 5 x 10-7 mbar l/s.
In June, Siemens released the Gas Chromatograph Portal workstation software, an upgrade of the System Manager and EZChrom software, enabling easier monitoring and modifications to Ethernet-connected Maxum GCs.
