Radiochemistry Product Line Sold
The acquired product line includes radio–thin layer chromatography imaging scanners, radio-HPLC detection systems and PET metabolite HPLC detectors. Publicly listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, Eckert & Ziegler had 2010 sales of €111.1 million ($146.2 million = €0.76 = $1).
Berlin, Germany and Washington, DC 7/1/11—Bioscan has sold its radiopharmaceutical equipment business to Eckert & Ziegler Strahlen- und Medizintechnik, an isotope technology company, for an undisclosed amount. The sale includes analytical instruments used for the quality assurance of radioactive pharmaceuticals and automated radiopharmaceutical synthesis units. “By such an investment, we are broadening our commitment to the North American market,” said Eckert & Ziegler Radiopharma Board member Dr. André Heß. Bioscan stated that the sale will allow it to focus on its molecular imaging business.
