Raman Spectroscopy Company Acquired

Based in Laramie, Wyoming, DeltaNu has 13 employees. DeltaNu CEO Dr. Keith Carron will stay with the company, which will remain in Wyoming. According to Mr. Pietras, Intevac plans to combine its MOSIR NIR imaging camera with DeltaNu’s Raman technology “to develop a series of products to take Raman spectroscopy into the one micron and beyond of the florescence range.“

Santa Clara, CA 2/1/07—Intevac has acquired the assets and certain liabilities of Raman spectroscopy company DeltaNu for an undisclosed amount. Intevac is a developer of low light imaging sensors, cameras and systems and a supplier of magnetic media supporting equipment. Based in Laramie, Wyoming, DeltaNu’s products include handheld and benchtop Raman spectroscopy instruments and Raman microscopes. “We eagerly look forward to new product opportunities that can be created by combining DeltaNu’s miniature Raman spectrometer designs with Intevac’s capabilities in near-infrared sensors, which will enable a new class of portable instruments with greatly enhanced chemical detection capabilities,” stated Intevac Imaging Vice President and General Manager Joe Pietras.
