Roper Adds to PAC Business
Based in Northern Ireland, Advanced Sensors was founded in 2005. The company’s systems enable real-time measurement in ranges of 0–100 ppb and 0–20,000 ppm. Parameters covered by the systems include oil in water, oil droplet–size distribution, total suspended solids, turbidity and BTEX.
Sarasota, FL 10/28/13; Houston, TX 11/6/13—PAC, a Roper Industries company, has acquired Advanced Sensors, a supplier of oil-in-water process analyzers, for £34 million ($55 million = £0.62 = $1). Advanced Sensors’ analyzers utilize ultrasonics, fluorescence, video microscopy, optical spectrometry and MS to ensure process and environmental control and offer early warning indicators of leaks and discharges. They operate in harsh environments with no routine maintenance. “With its strong product technology and its penetration in the Oil & Gas production market segment, Advanced Sensors will enable PAC to deliver a highly differentiated technology to our current process refining customers and expand our market penetration in the upstream market,” stated PAC President Eric Schellenberger. The transaction closed in early October.
