Product Introductions

Microfluidics launched the LV1 Microfluidizer high shear fluid processor, a low-volume benchtop system for uniform particle-size reduction and cell disruption for samples as small as 1 mL.

PluriSelect GmbH introduced pluriBead separation technology kits for the direct separation of cells from buffy coat, cell culture or whole blood without prior sample preparation.

Life Technologies launched the Invitrogen MAGic Sample Processor for automated proteomic and epigenetic sample separation, based on microfluidics, thermal controls and integrated magnetic separation technology. It can run up to 12 samples in parallel.

Fluidigm released a new protocol for its Access Array System, enabling sequencing of amplicon libraries using GS FLX Titanium Series reagents on the 454 GS FLX.

MO Bio Laboratories introduced the PowerLyzer 24 benchtop bead-based homogenizer.

Waters released the Positive Pressure-96 Processor for performing SPE for analytes in biological samples using Waters’s 96-well Oasis µElution Plate or 96-well Oasis macro plate. It features a manifold gasket with 96 independent ports.

Omni International introduced the Bead Ruptor 24 bead mill homogenizer with the ability to process volumes from 0.3 mL to 5 mL.

Phenomenex launched the Strata-X-A SPE product line, based on a polymeric, high-capacity sorbent that delivers maximum retention of anionic compounds.

Biotage A/S released ISOLUTE SLE+ High-Performance Supported Liquid Extraction sample preparation columns, which use a simple three-step methodology and are also available in a new Array format, for sample volumes from 25 µL up to 10 mL.

Beckman Coulter Genomics launched the SPRIworks Fragment Library System II, which automates the preparation of fragment libraries for the Roche GS FLX.
