10X Genomics announced that the American Arbitration Association denied claims brought against the company and three of its executives by Bio-Rad Laboratories, alleging breach of certain contractual noncompete, nonsoliciation and confidentiality obligations related to Bio-Rad’s purchase of Quantalife (see IBO 10/15/11).

HTG Molecular Diagnostics disclosed that as of December 31, 2015, it had an installed base of 49 HTG Edge and HTG EdgeSeq systems, including 19 evaluation units.

In April, HTG Molecular Diagnostics named Gamidor Diagnostics and Durviz s.l. Parque Tecnológico de Valencia as distributors for Israel, and Spain and Portugal, respectively.

In April, Genestack, an enterprise platform provider, partnered with the Cancer Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory on a project focused on using NGS to develop a fast “sequence-to-report” solution for the prognosis and post-treatment monitoring of bone marrow transplant patients. It is the first use of Genestack in a clinical setting.

Rubicon Genomics named MDL Asia as a Chinese distributor.

Software provider Genomics PLC and DNANexus, a cloud-based genome informatics and data management company, entered into a research collaboration to develop solutions for population-scale sequencing analysis.

SeraCare Life Sciences will provide TOMA Biosciences with access to its Seraseq Solid Tumor Mutation Mix reference materials to develop its TOMA OS-Seq solid tumor gene analysis kit and PlasmaSeq liquid biopsy test.

Product Introductions

In March, Advanced Analytical introduced the DNF-464 High Sensitivity Large Fragment 50 Kb Analysis Kit for the analysis of large DNA samples, such as the long-read sequences produced by Pacific Biosciences kits.

In April, QIAGEN introduced the RNA-seq Explorer Solution for the analysis and interpretation of omics data from liquid biopsy–based research, including from tumor-derived exosomes.

In April, 10X Genomics’ Single Cell 3’ Solution (see IBO 3/31/16) became commercially available.

Ranomics launched the Ranomics Ring-Domain database of functional studies, which includes two thousand variants of BRCA1. Pricing is $100 per variant. Bulk subscriptions are also available.

SeraCare Life Sciences introduced eight new Seraseq Solid Tumor Mutation Mix products, the company’s latest biosynthetic reference material technology, which contains 40 total hard-to-sequence somatic variants.
