Sigma Acquires Standards Company

Cerilliant offers more than 2,800 products and serves more than 2,000 customers. It is accredited to ISO Guide 34, ISO/IEC 17025 and is certified to ISO 9001:2008.

St. Louis, MO 12/30/10—Sigma-Aldrich has acquired all of the outstanding shares of Cerilliant from Argenta Partners for an undisclosed amount. Based in Round Rock, Texas, with 65 employees, Cerilliant provides high quality reference standards and materials for the clinical diagnostics, environmental, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, forensic and clinical toxicology markets. Sigma-Aldrich stated that the acquisition would complement its Fluka and Supelco analytical brands and expand its customer base and markets. “Cerilliant’s strong product suite and solid relationships with customers and analytical equipment suppliers will bring important new business opportunities to our Company’s analytical arena,” said Russel Gant, vice president of Sigma-Aldrich’s Analytical Research business. The acquisition is expected to be neutral to mildly accretive to 2011 EPS. Cerilliant President Sherri Pogue has been appointed director of the Round Rock site.
