St. Louis, MO 3/22/13—The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has reported that Sigma-Aldrich plans to sell SAGE (Sigma Advanced Genetic Engineering) Labs, its research animal model business, to a private equity firm. A Sigma-Aldrich spokesperson told the newspaper that as the result of the company’s recent reorganization (see IBO 3/15/13), the business is not a strategic fit. The sale is expected to be completed by April 5.
