Techcomp Expands in Europe
Last year, Techcomp acquired a stake in French lab product firm HCC (see IBO 8/15/09). According to NextInsight.net, HCC is now profitable. NextInsight.net also reported that Techcomp plans to increase Precisa’s sales in Asia, implement a new sourcing system and relocate some product manufacturing.
Hong Kong 2/26/10—Techcomp, a manufacturer and distributor of analytical instruments, has acquired 80% of Precisa Gravimetrics AG from Swiss Scale AG for CHF 3.5 million ($3.1 million = CHF 1.08 = $1). Established in 1935 and based in Switzerland, Precisa Gravimetrics AG manufacturers and sells analytical balances and moisture analyzers. “Whilst Asia remains one of the faster growing markets in the world, the European market is a much larger market. It is a strategic market that we have to establish our presence in to endure our long-term growth,” stated Richard Lo, Techcomp Group president and founder.
