VWR Acquires Jencons
Jencons is one of the UK’s largest independent laboratory product distributors and also manufactures liquid handling equipment and other lab products. The acquisition builds on VWR’s strategy to expand internationally and increase its sale of proprietary products.
West Chester, PA 4/1/08—Laboratory product distributor VWR International has acquired Jencons (Scientific), a distributor with annual revenues of approximately $46 million. Based in the UK, Jencons has 110 employees and operations in Ireland, Kenya and North America. Terms were not disclosed. “Their emphasis on instrumentation and equipment will enhance our product and services offerings to our customers in the UK and Ireland and provide an even more attractive platform to our suppliers,” stated Manuel Brocke-Benz, VWR senior vice president and managing director of European Operations.
