VWR Adds GE Healthcare Bio-Science Products
This is a significant move for GE Healthcare Bio-Sciences, as it has long relied primarily on its own distribution and sales force. It is also major win for VWR, as the company expands its life science business. VWR’s website also indicates that it will offer GE’s cellular and immunoassays.
West Chester, PA, 1/24/07—VWR International has entered into a definitive agreement to distribute select product lines of GE Healthcare Bio-Sciences in North America, effective January 26. GE products to be offered include radiochemicals, film and certain electrophoresis, chromatography and nucleic acid purification products. “In many cases, the convenience VWR adds through logistics and access to products via their storeroom programs can be the difference in a sale,” commented Joel McComb, president and general manager of GE Healthcare Life Sciences, North America.
