Radnor, PA 9/10/12; Radnor, PA 9/12/12—VWR International has acquired two businesses for undisclosed amounts, expanding its international sales. VWR has purchased the mining supply business of KLEN International. The business manufactures and distributes products that are used by labs that serve the precious metals mining industry. “Strategically located in Western Australia, VWR’s acquisition of KLEN adds to our existing global mining supply network of facilities in the U.S., Canada, and Chile,” said Ted Pulkownik, VWR senior vice president of Strategy & Corporate Development. VWR has also acquired Sovereign Group, a lab product distributor with distribution centers and sales organization in Argentina and Brazil. “This acquisition allows us to better serve our global customers in Brazil and Argentina as their demands continue to increase,” said Mr. Pulkownik. The company stated that the acquisition strengthens its ability to serve the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, education and government markets in Latin America.
