Waters Expands Thermal Analysis Segment
TA Instruments purchased BÄHR for $12 million in cash, according to Waters’s 10K SEC filing. The acquisition adds viscometers to TA Instruments’ product lines of thermal analyzers and rheometers.
New Castle, DE 2/15/12—TA Instruments, a Waters company, has acquired German thermal analysis system maker BÄHR Thermoanalyse. “This acquisition adds powerful technologies which complement TA Instruments’ market-leading thermal analysis product line,” said TA Instruments President Terry Kelly. “There are exciting opportunities to merge patented technologies from TA and BÄHR to produce powerful new systems.” BÄHR products include dilatometer systems, viscometers, and thermogravimetry and differential thermal analyzers.
