Wheaton Adds UK Business
According to Wheaton, LSL is the premier supplier of glass and plastic packaging to UK biotechnology and diagnostics markets. A Wheaton representative told IBO that LSL has around 85 employees and that senior management will remain with the firm. Based in Rochdale, England, LSL was founded in 1980.
Millville, NJ 2/9/11—Wheaton Industries has acquired UK-based Laboratory Sales Limited (LSL), a manufacturer and distributor of tubular glass products and lab consumables. “This strategic investment further strengthens our position as a market leader of specialty packaging and related instruments for cell-based research, chemical compound, in vitro diagnostics and specialty pharmaceutical markets,” commented Wheaton Industries President and CEO Stephen Drozdow. “We were particularly attracted to LSL’s position and growth prospects in the UK and throughout Europe.” LSL will operate as a standalone subsidiary.
