White to Continue as Applied Biosystems President
Mr. White commented that his continuing in this position will allow him “an opportunity to be able for me to get much closer to the business without a filter” and to get to know senior management better, suggesting the next president will come from inside the company. He also plans to re-examine the company’s mid- and long-term strategies.
Foster City, CA 1/25/07—Tony White told investors on the Applied Biosystems’ quarterly conference call that he plans to continue as interim president of the company for the next one-to-two years. Mr. White took over the position three months ago following the resignation of Catherine Burzik (see IBO 10/31/06). “As of now, the Board of Directors and I have no plans to conduct an external search,” stated Mr. White.
