Ulm, Germany 7/28/10—WITec GmbH, a provider of optical and scanning probe microscopes, has announced the purchase of a majority stake in omt – optische messtechnik gmbh. Omt supplies optical metrology tools, such as reflectometers, spectral ellipsometers and spectrometers, specializing in industrial applications, including process control. “Our goal is the extension of our market-leading position in the field of 3D surface analysis,” commented Dr. Joachim Koenen, managing director of WITec. Omt will continue to operate as an independent company.
