A Ceremony Holds to Celebrate the Expansion of the Production Facility in Leichlingen (Germany)

On September 9th, HORIBA Europe GmbH, the German base of the HORIBA Group, held a ceremony to celebrate the expansion of its production base for gas analyzers such as air pollution monitoring analyzers in Leichlingen.

In the European Union, which has set a target of carbon neutrality to be achieved by 2050, there is a growing need for gas measurement to improve production efficiency and to reduce COemissions in various factories, in addition to air quality monitoring. Leichlingen has been an important production site for air pollution monitoring analyzers and a cornerstone of our environmental and process business in Europe. Until now, it was a base only with production functions, but this expansion has doubled the floor area, newly adding a research and development function to the base. We have established a system that can quickly respond to several needs of our customers toward the realization of carbon neutrality. This facility has started full-scale operations this spring.

At the ceremony, we received a congratulatory video message from Mona Neubaur, Minister for Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Action and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, where Leichlingen is located. In addition, many representatives from the local political and business circles, including the Mayor City of Leichlingen, Frank Steffes, attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Chairman and Group CEO Atsushi Horiba said, “HORIBA established HORIBA Europe GmbH in 1972. We are very pleased to be able to expand our facilities in Leichlingen on the 50th anniversary of our founding. From Leichlingen, HORIBA strongly promises to continue to provide products and services related to global environmental analysis.”

Torsten Laube, HORIBA’s Process & Environmental segment leader, said “The expansion enables us not only to increase the capacity and efficiency for our P&E production but also to offer more space for our P&E and Automotive Service Centers. Furthermore, we will focus on process measurement technology and build those products on site as well as offer related services.”
