ABB Announces the Process Gas Chromatograph PGC2000 Edition 2 (E2) with Advanced Features
Lewisburg, WV, USA – May 11, 2009 — ABB Process Analytics’ Process Gas Chromatograph (PGC) 2000
is known for its reliability in the HP Industry. Now ABB Process Analytics raises the process GC technical
standards with a series of new features added to the PGC 2000, the PGC 2000 Edition 2 (E2).
Electronic Pressure Control (EPC) improves chromatography resolution and repeatability is now standard on
all PGC 2000 E2s. Two new Detectors, Dielectric Barrier Discharge Ionization (DBDID) and Photo-
Ionization (PID) add new industry applications for ppm and ppb measurements. Redundant Ethernet
communications is now direct from the analyzer. And, the PGC 2000 E2 has been upgraded to “Division 2”
by design reducing analyzer cost and enabling Division 1 certification to be achieved with a simple “y” purge.
A new mounting plate on its Micro Liquid Sample Inject Valve isolates excessive loads on the LSV sample
chamber eliminating premature wearing of the seals and damage to the steam.
The PGC 2000E2 will set a new standard for Reliability, Performance, and Ease of Use with these added
features.
