Agilent Acquires Yokogawa Analytical Systems

Palo Alto, CA and Tokyo, Japan -Agilent has announced that it will purchase Yokogawa Analytical Systems, its joint venture with Yokogawa Electric, for $160 million, consisting of $98 million for Agilent’s 49% share of the company and $7.5 million in Yokogawa Analytical dividends. Founded in 1991, Yokogawa Analytical makes ICP-MS and GC and had sales of more than $160 million in fiscal 2005. According to the companies, the joint venture had met its objectives and as a wholly owned subsidiary of Agilent, Yokogawa Analytical will be better able to expand its presence in Japan.
