Inc. Magazine Ranks Ahura Scientific as a Leader in Annual List of the 500 Fastest-Growing Private Companies for Second Consecutive Year

Company Ranks First in Security, Second in the Boston Region and 25th Overall

WILMINGTON, Mass.–Ahura Scientific, Inc., the leader in field-deployed analytical instruments for human health and public safety, today announced that for the second consecutive year it has been named to Inc. magazine’s list of the 500 fastest-growing companies in the U.S. Thanks to its 4,565 percent growth from 2005-2008, Ahura Scientific ranked 25th overall on this year’s list, up from 65th in 2008, while obtaining the No. 1 position in security and the second spot in the Boston region.

Ahura Scientific’s success began with the launch of its first portable analytical instrument in 2005. The device enables military personnel and first responders to identify toxic materials, explosives, chemical warfare agents and narcotics. In 2007, Ahura Scientific expanded its focus to the pharmaceutical market, helping pharmaceutical manufacturers improve product safety and supply chain security through raw material authentication and anti-counterfeit measures. The company’s latest product, unveiled earlier this year, is designed to help security personnel in commercial aviation screen for potential liquid explosives.
