AS&E’s Parcel and Mobile Cargo Inspection Products and Services are Certified as Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security
BILLERICA, Mass.–American Science and Engineering, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASEI) (AS&E®), a leading worldwide supplier of innovative X-ray inspection solutions, announced today that it has received SAFETY (Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technology) Act Certification from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for a range of cargo and parcel X-ray inspection products and associated services. All of these products and services are in-use around the world by the U.S. Government. Certification provides legal liability protection to customers and users of AS&E’s certified products related to an act of terrorism. AS&E is one of a small number of companies to pass the stringent standards set forth in the DHS SAFETY Act.

AS&E received this exclusive Certification after meeting the qualifications outlined in the SAFETY Act of 2002. As a result of receiving Certification, AS&E’s products and services have been placed on the DHS Approved Products List for Homeland Security.
