Analogic Corporation Signs Deal With Smiths Detection

PEABODY, Mass. — Analogic Corporation (Nasdaq:ALOG – News) announced today that it has signed an agreement with Smiths Detection to develop advanced imaging subsystems for use in a next-generation explosives detection system to be manufactured and marketed by Smiths. The agreement provides for Smiths Detection to fund the engineering development over a period of approximately two years.

The system is being designed to address emerging threat detection standards designed to save lives through improved aviation security, including new standards mandating that European airports scan all checked baggage using advanced threat detection systems. As a leader in advanced high-precision image processing technologies, Analogic is uniquely positioned to meet these evolving threat detection standards.
