ANDalyze Water Analytics Products Now Available Through VWR

Champaign, IL, USA — ANDalyze has signed VWR as an authorized

distributor for the ANDalyze’s product line. VWR, a world leader in providing laboratory and

scientific instruments and supplies, will distribute the ANDalyze DNAzyme-based heavy metal

testing products through its sales channels.

The ANDalyze product is a system of hand-held fluorimeter and consumable sensors that

test for heavy metal concentrations in water. It is ideal for on-site and in-process testing of

water sources. The products currently test for lead, copper, uranium, mercury, zinc and

cadmium. A variety of new sensors, are planned for the product platform in 2015.

“With the addition of VWR to our global distribution strategy, ANDalyze is entering new

markets and serving new customers. We are seeing applications of our heavy metals testing

products across a wide range of applications including drinking water, environmental

water, industrial, mining, laboratory and food safety water testing. These applications align

well with VWR’s customer segments and are all areas of focus for ANDalyze.” said Bill

Thalheimer, CEO, ANDalyze.

Heavy Metal Testing Made Easy

The ANDalyze solution consists of consumable sensors in combination with the ANDalyze

fluorimeter. Measuring metal ions is done through a reaction occurring when a water

sample containing a target metal ion contaminant (e.g. lead, copper, mercury Etc.) is

introduced to an analyte-specific DNAzyme sensor. The test is performed by injecting a

water sample through the sensor housing, into the fluorimeter where the sample water will

fluoresce in direct correlation to the amount of metal ion present. The parts per billion

concentration is then automatically displayed on the fluorimeter screen. This method greatly

reduces time and effort as compared with older technologies due to its field portability, fast

and easy test method and comparatively low cost per test. This advantage creates an

overall cost savings for organizations that are responsible for water testing of public drinking

water supplies, environmental water sources or industrial water operations.

ANDalyze Inc.

ANDalyze offers products for testing water contamination using catalytic DNA

technologies. The company developed methodology for detecting and quantifying

chemical levels based on the recent discovery of the catalytic properties of DNA. This

technology and product, which have been validated through the US EPA, is a universal

platform that offers simple, fast, cost effective and reliable detection of trace metals and

other target chemicals. Company contact and product information can be found at
