ATL LIMS is METRC Validated in Nine States

ATL is committed to working with the cannabis industry, and has made METRC validation a priority. Our LIMS are used in cannabis laboratories across the nation for safety and purity testing as well as compliance.

METRC stands for Marijuana Enforcement Tracking and Compliance. METRC is a regulatory compliance system for the cannabis industry that is designed to track cannabis production from seed to sale. METRC ensures compliance by identifying and tagging plants and then tracking the progress of the plants through harvest to cannabis products available for sale. METRC will also track cannabis sales in each state, meeting the METRC goal of tracking all cannabis production and to ensure products are safe for consumption.

The validation process requires a significant investment of both time and money. ATL is proud of our efforts to earn METRC validation in nine states: California, Colorado, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, Ohio, and Oregon, with plans for additional states.

Benefits of the METRC interface include:

  • The ability for regional cannabis licensees or commercial testing laboratories to use ATL’s LIMS to electronically transmit inventory and sales data into a state’s METRC system, eliminating the need for manual entry and reducing potential data quality issues.
  • ATL’s LIMS users will be able to track the history of all known cannabis inventory, starting with plants and continuing through harvest and sale through distributors and dispensaries using comprehensive traceability features that will satisfy any audit or reporting requirements.
