Attune® Acoustic Focusing Cytometer Available in Red/Blue Laser Configuration
Life Technologies now offers a new laser configuration (blue/red) on the Attune® Acoustic Focusing Cytometer, enabling users to perform a wider range of research applications, including rare-event detection and environmental studies, such as marine sample analysis without compromising sensitivity and precision.
The new blue/red laser configuration is ideal for analyzing human and mouse immunophenotyping samples with dramatically shorter acquisition times. The sensitivity of the instrument also facilitates analysis of precious samples that are difficult to acquire, such as spinal cord fluid, in which concentration and volume levels are low. Major benefits of the acoustic focusing technology include quick acquisition of diluted samples and simplified workflow with a no-lyse, no-wash, no cell loss method for sample preparation.
The Attune® Acounstic Focusing Cytometer, launched in June of 2010, is a first-of-its-kind system that uses sound waves to precisely control the movement of cells and, consequently, enables a 10-fold increase in acquisition speed while maintaining low variation compared to what is currently available on the market today.
The instrument enables rapid phenotyping, and broad analysis of thousands of cells as they are guided through the instrument’s laser system. Cellular biologists engage in flow cytometry for a rapidly growing range of applications, including the study of gene expression, DNA quantification, cell counting and others.
Each instrument is equipped with either a blue/violet or a red/blue laser configuration, depending on the type of applications that will be performed.
