Automated System Introduced for Labeling and Purifying DNA Samples

Automates reaction setup and magnetic bead purification of labeled products

November 12, 2008, SciGene (Sunnyvale, CA) today announced the introduction of the ArrayPrep™ Target Preparation System, a robotic liquid handling and incubation system that automates DNA/RNA amplification and labeling methods widely used in microarray analysis.

The ArrayPrep™ System prepares 8 to 96 samples ready for hybridization (96 in under six hours) and requires less than 30 minutes hands-on time (only 3 interactions). It is fully optimized for easy setup using validated protocols. The system features three heating/cooling positions with heated lids for reagents and incubations; automatic magnetic bead clean-up of product, and an integrated 8 channel 1-250µl pipettor and plate gripper.

The ArrayPrep™ System is a key component of SciGene’s microarray workflow for aCGH-based genetic tests.
