Aviation Security in China Continues to Purchase Implant Sciences’ Explosives Trace Detection Devices
WILMINGTON, MA – Implant Sciences Corporation, a high technology supplier of systems and sensors for homeland security markets, announced today it sold seven Quantum Sniffer(TM) QS-H150 portable explosives trace detectors to an airport in China. Implant Sciences continues to penetrate the China security market, having sold several million dollars worth of its QS-H150 there since 2008, to a large number of customers, including the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
According to the China Daily, between 2011 and 2015 China is planning to expand as many as 91 of its existing 175 airports, while adding 56 new and potentially relocating 16 others. Implant Sciences’ distribution channels are well positioned to share in this growth, as well as growth in the rail and subway markets. This most-recent sale was made through the Company’s Beijing-based distributor Beijing JingAnLanDun Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd.
“Aviation security continues to be an important market for us in China,” stated Implant Sciences’ President and CEO Glenn D. Bolduc. “The QS-H150’s quality, functionality, performance, and low cost-of-use consistently win contracts even when going up against companies that are larger than us with far greater resources. We also see significant opportunity in the aviation security market with our newest product offering, the QS-B220.”
About the Quantum Sniffer(TM) QS-H150 The QS-H150 is a handheld explosives trace detector that uses Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) to rapidly detect and identify trace amounts of a wide variety of military, commercial, and homemade explosives. The QS-H150 uses no radioactive materials and features a low-maintenance design that is self-calibrating and self-clearing, providing very high levels of operational availability.
About the Quantum Sniffer(TM) QS-B220 The QS-B220, introduced in May 2011, is a benchtop explosives and narcotics trace detector that uses Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) to rapidly detect and identify trace amounts of a wide variety of military, commercial, and homemade explosives, plus narcotic substances. The QS-B220 continues the Implant Sciences tradition of freedom from radioactive materials, low total cost of ownership, and high operational availability.
