UPPSALA, Sweden, January 13 — Beactica AB, the Swedish fragment-based drug discovery company, today announced a new research collaboration agreement with GE Healthcare (Chalfont St. Giles, UK), the world leading provider of molecular interaction analysis tools, and Uppsala University (Sweden). The collaboration combines Beactica’s unique approach to fragment-based drug discovery and GE Healthcare’s Biacore(TM) technology with enzymology expertise from Uppsala University.

Under the terms of the agreement, the consortium will collaborate to develop the next generation of Biacore(TM) surface plasmon resonance instruments and applications for fragment-based drug discovery. The project also aims to identify novel high-quality leads against a clinically important, undisclosed protein target from Beactica’s discovery pipeline. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
